Who's Who?
Soven
Miyal
Appears in the Prime Edition
Miyal has been the leader of the Soven people for over 10 years. He is the "Speaker of the Vutral" or head of all the tribes. The Soven are a dying race and he is working with scientist to discover the reason for their infertility. Many of his people believe it to be the work of the Orinn in an effort to finally rid themselves of the Soven people and the take complete control of Y'mvala; the planet that both races call home. The Soven live many years, and normally have a low birthrate, but the numbers have become increasingly alarming to the Soven leaders. This is a major reason that they have been unwilling to participate on any side of the galactic conflict. The leaders feel that they cannot spare the lives to participate, no matter how just a cause may be. Miyal has taken things into his hands, and with the help of Aranaugh, has secretly been preparing his people for a war that he knows will soon arrive.
Aranaugh
Appears in the Prime Edition
He is the leader of the ancient, powerful race of universal observers, the Orinn. The Orinn are seeded throughout the universe and have traveled trough the Firestorm in an effort to explore and colonize worlds. The Orinn have inhabited Y'mvalla for over 5000 years. Aranaugh is a warrior at heart and knows when the time for battle is at hand, but will only go to war as a last resort. He has formed a mutually agreeable friendship with the Soven, even after the initial meetings between the two races left many dead on both sides. His rival for power is Cerrian, who wishes to destroy all Soven and rule over the Orinn.
Ran'har
Appears in the Prime Edition
He is a scientist, scholar, musician and friend to all. Ran'har has proven to be a steadfast friend to those that are willing to accept his own quirkiness. Many of his compatriots feel that he is too open to outsiders. Most of his conemperaries are unaware that his thirst for adventure calls him on a different path than most Soven. He wishes to become a Far-Ranger (a Soven space wanderer) and travel the universe. Few Soven have pursued this urge to leave Y'mvalla, the first being Truxil of Perisom over for and half centuries before. Ran'har has become a confidant of Ambassador Cassandra Sage.
Foz
Appears in the Prime Edition
He is an eccentric but brilliant Soven hermit that Miyal has asked to work on improving the Soven Technology. Other than Miyal, Ran'har is the only other Soven that Foz associates with. He is working on a secret device that will help protect the Soven people against the Muero threat. Unknown to anyone else, he has captured a spying Muero and has subjected him to experiments in order to discover his weaknesses and has found a startling and vital secret. Before he shares his knowledge, he must be sure, so he has told no one until he can verify his experiments. For this he needs to capture another Muero.
Ceres
Appears in the Prime Edition
Ceres is the son of Cerrian, the rival of Aranaugh. He has rebelled against his father and has joined the ranks of Aranaugh. He feels that Aranaugh's ways of justice and peace are what's best for the Orinn. Ceres was initially brought in as Aranaugh's right hand as an appeasement to those that wanted a peace between Aranaugh and Cerrian in the Orinn society. Though there is still much hate between Aranaugh and Cerrian, the presence of Ceres is seen as a stabilizing factor between the two camps.
Xermal
Appears in the Prime Edition
Xermal is one of the oldest Soven. He has proven to be a battle tested leader and has taught others the way of war. He is the last true military strategist that the Soven have (something Miyal is working to rectify). He sees the threat the Muero pose even if the elders of the Soven tribes do not. He has sworn that when the time comes he will lead the Soven fleet against their enemy. Xermal has never been the most artistic of the Soven people, but he is known and a master of structural design, thus he is a leading building of the basic structures such as bridges and homes, leaving others to pursue their artistic expressions.
