FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Third World Games, Inc. and SMIF Ink. Announce Two New Portable Adventures
Sets
Westminster, CA - March 29, 2004 - Adding to the wildly popular Portable
Adventures line of traditional games, Third World Games, Inc. announces two
new sets: Iron Maidens & Firestorm.
Iron Maidens features Dr. Neurotica and the band of her evil clones, the
Iron Maidens. Players play a specific spy; their job is to infiltrate the
Maidens, sneak into Dr. Neurotica's moonbase and stop her before she takes
over the world. This set's theme is taken from the popular James Bond and
Austin Powers spy movies.
Industry game designer, Michael Nickoloff, created the Firestorm set. This
science fiction-themed set features the evil, power hungry Muero and their
unrelentless attacks on the peaceful Soven. The Human race along with the
noble Dysori join both sides in order to stop the conflict. This set
features a new "Stuff" card: Ships. These cards give a bonus to all
characters in a player's group! In addition, Ships are featured during
Adventures; however, they can get wounded and discarded as well! Players
will have to balance the risk of having a powerful ship in their group with
the possibility of it being destroyed in an Adventure and damaging all of
his or her characters.
Famed Battle of the Bands designer, Dan Smith, created the Portable
Adventures line in 2003. In this game, players control a "ME" character that
represents the leader of their group as they go though the game on different
adventures. Players add other characters to their group, give them
genre-specific stuff cards and can play encounter cards during adventures.
At the end of each adventure, the group with the highest total wins the
adventure and takes control it; only seven adventure points are needed to
win a game!
All sets are completely compatible with each other and the rules transfer
from one set to another. Each set comes with various different ways to play
the game and to combine sets for a unique experience!
Portable Adventures Sets 03 & 04 will be available in hobby gaming retail
stores worldwide in December 2004. Product codes: 3WG0304 & 3WG0306. Ages 12
& up. Games last between 30 & 45 minutes. Retail price: $12.95.
